My Crochet Journey
Hello everybody and welcome to my film on a Friday! If you want to see what I've been up to this week, keep watching. Hello everybody, I hope you are all okay. Welcome to my film on a Friday. If you are new to the group or new to this channel, my name is Alexandra and I'm the admin of the Crochet Beginners Group on Facebook. I started this group about two and a half years ago, and it has grown into a massive community of over 93,000 lovely crocheters. How cool is that?
Dealing with Norovirus
So, what have I been up to this week crochet-wise? Absolutely nothing. Should I tell you why? Because I have the dreaded norovirus. I spent most of the start of my week confined to the bathroom. It was torture, absolute torture. I don't mind being sick, I don't mind the other end, but what I do mind is the horrific stomach cramps. Thank you, universe, for making me feel so rotten. I really, really appreciate it. But what I have decided to do today instead, since I have no crochet projects to show you, is talk about my favorite crochet books. So, let's get started!
My Favorite Crochet Books
Crochet: The Complete Step-by-Step Guide
One of my all-time favorite crochet books is "Crochet: The Complete Step-by-Step Guide." My step-mom bought me this book a couple of years ago for Christmas, and it has been an invaluable resource for beginners and experienced crocheters alike. It is a beautifully designed hardcover book filled with hints, tips, and detailed instructions on how to crochet. It includes patterns for shawls, hats, baby bonnets, blankets, and more. It even has a section on how to read patterns and charts, which is incredibly helpful for someone like me who struggles with written instructions. If you're looking to treat yourself to a nice crochet book, I highly recommend "Crochet: The Complete Step-by-Step Guide."
Geek Chic Crochet by Nikki Trench
Another book that I absolutely love and fangirl over is "Geek Chic Crochet" by Nikki Trench. Nikki Trench is a talented crochet designer, and her book is filled with 35 patterns for sweaters, scarves, skirts, tank tops, turbans, and more. I especially love the dress on the front cover and can't wait to make it myself. The patterns in this book have a unique and modern style, perfect for those who want to add a touch of geekiness to their crochet projects. If you're looking for fun and trendy crochet patterns, "Geek Chic Crochet" is a must-have.
