Introduction

Hey there, fellow crafters! It's Linda here, and I'm back with a new video that you've all been waiting for. In today's video, I'll be showing you how to make a Snorlax plushie, which has been highly requested by all of you. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for your love and support by giving away this adorable Snorlax plushie to one lucky winner. Don't worry, all the giveaway instructions will be listed in the description box below. And in case you want to make one for yourself, I'll also provide a template that you can find in the description. So, without further ado, let's jump right into it!

Making the Snorlax Plushie

Materials Needed

To make your very own Snorlax plushie, you'll need the following materials:

  • Template for the Snorlax pattern
  • Two yards of green fabric (preferably fuzzy)
  • One yard of cream fabric
  • 1/3 yard of tan fabric
  • Black and white felt sheets
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Sewing machine
  • 10 pounds of polyfill
  • Hand sewing needle and thread

Cutting and Sewing the Pieces

Start by laying out the template and cutting out all the pieces. Make sure to label each piece with the corresponding fabric color and the amount needed. When cutting out pieces that say "x2," fold the fabric in half so you can get a mirror image.

We'll begin with Snorlax's fingers and toes. Stack two pieces together, sew across the top two edges, leaving the bottom open for flipping it right side out. Use a pin or something sharp to ensure the points are well-defined.

Next, it's time to stuff the plushie! Use a ten-pound box of polyfill, which you can easily find at Walmart or Jo-Ann. Before stuffing, make sure to pull apart any knots in the polyfill, ensuring it's loose and fluffy. Once you've stuffed each piece, seal the openings using a ladder stitch.

Stuffing and Closing the Body

Let's move on to Snorlax's body. You'll have four body pieces in total. Match up two pairs of pieces, right side to right side, and sew up the less curved seam. Then, match the two sets of pieces again, right side to right side, and pin the edges together. Leave a four-inch opening so you can turn it right side out later. Once flipped, trim off any excess seam and stuff the body with polyfill. Seal the opening with a ladder stitch.

Attaching the Arms, Legs, and Head

Time to attach Snorlax's arms, legs, and head! Start by attaching the fingers and toes to the arms and legs respectively. Flip them towards the center and sew them securely close to the edge. Then, attach the arms to the body, making sure they're evenly positioned on both sides. Use an invisible needle and ladder stitch to sew them on.

For the head, match up the two pairs of pieces, right side to right side, and sew up the center. Then, join the two head pieces together, leaving a four-inch opening for flipping. Once flipped and stuffed, seal the opening with a ladder stitch. Attach the ears to the head using the same method as the arms.

Sewing the Face Details

Now it's time to give Snorlax his adorable face! Stretch the cream fabric over his face, pin it in place, and trim off any excess fabric. Sew around the edge using a back stitch. Cut out the eye and mouth pieces and attach them using small stitches. Take your time to ensure they're well secured.
