Introduction

Hey friends, I hope you're all having a great day. I'm Llama Mama Kayla and I appreciate you stopping by for a visit today. I wanted to share some exciting news with you - it's Vlogtober! During this Vlogtober, I, along with some other crochet and YouTube friends, am working on a spider blanket. Each day, we will be working on our blankets and sharing our progress with you.

Spider Blanket Vlogtober

Let me tell you a little bit about the spider blanket Vlogtober. It's a fun project where we all crochet a spider-themed blanket. The idea is to work on our blankets throughout the month of October and showcase the progress in our videos. It's a collaborative effort with other creators who are also making the blanket. If you're interested, I have a link in the description below that lists all the creators that I know of who are participating.

Creators Making the Blanket

I'm thrilled to see that other people have also joined in on making the spider blanket. Some creators have even reached out and shared photos of their blankets with us. It's so wonderful to see the different color combinations and progress everyone is making. In fact, I recently received a photo from Emily showcasing her blanket, and I must say, it's looking really cute. I'll pop in a photo of Emily's blanket here and maybe she'll send in more photos as her progress continues.

Progress Updates

Now, let me show you my blanket. I'm absolutely loving how it's turning out and it's growing really fast. The center of the blanket is coming together nicely, and I've added a vibrant lime green color that covers three sides. It's a bit hard to capture the true shade on camera, but trust me, it's a stunning lime green. I then switched to a mulberry color, which added a beautiful touch to the blanket. Strangely enough, the ball of mulberry yarn was just enough to cover four sides of the blanket perfectly.

Personal Experience with Hand Troubles

I had a bit of a setback yesterday. In the morning, I experienced some trouble with my hands. They were hurting, so I took some pain medicine and decided to rest for a while. To alleviate the pain, I wrapped my hand in a heating pad. When I woke up, my hand felt much better, and I was able to crochet late into the night. Despite the temporary setback, I'm glad I could continue working on my blanket.

Color Choices and Yarn Selection

Let's talk about color choices and yarn selection for a moment. I absolutely love all the bright colors I've chosen for my spider blanket. Each square brings its own unique touch to the overall design. I recently started on a pink square but didn't have the chance to finish it yet. Hopefully, I'll complete it today and maybe even start on another square.

Adding New Squares

Speaking of squares, I've decided that I'll most likely make another pillowcase with the squares I crochet. My son Dakota came over the other night, and he thought it was a great idea. He enjoys indulging me in my crafting projects, as he has an artistic side himself. It's always a pleasure to share my progress with him and get his input on my ideas.

Utilizing a Yarn Bowl

I just have to show you my lovely yarn bowl. It's actually a repurposed candy corn harvest container from the Dollar General store. I emptied it out and started using it as a yarn bowl because it perfectly served my needs. Having a designated place to hold my yarn and a needle for weaving in ends makes the entire crochet process much more efficient. It's the little things that make crafting even more enjoyable.

Plans for Future Progress

Today, I am excited to add more yarn to my blanket. Looking at my collection of yarn balls, I might opt for a lighter color to balance out the darker shades. Perhaps I'll even add a splash of white or another color to bring some variety to the mix. The possibilities are endless, and that's what makes this project so much fun.

Doll of the Week: Miss Magnolia

Before we wrap up, I wanted to introduce you to the doll of the week - Miss Magnolia. She is an adorable 28-inch doll with a perpetual happy disposition. Magnolia's birthday just happened, and I uploaded a video of her birthday celebrations. If you're interested, feel free to check out that video. The party was a hit, and Magnolia had a blast. Her gold sandals and cute headband added the perfect finishing touches to her birthday outfit.

Conclusion

Thank you, friends, for watching and playing along with my crafting antics. I appreciate all the support and encouragement. Stay tuned for more updates on the spider blanket Vlogtober and other exciting projects. See you soon!
