Update on My Knitting Project

One of my current projects is a knitting project from Alisia Arts called "Elaine." In this update, I'll be sharing the progress I've made so far, the materials I'm using, and my plans for completing the project.

Pattern and Book Details

The pattern I'm working on can be found in the book "Our Best Knit Baby Afghan Book 2." I purchased the book at Joann's for a discounted price. The pattern is called "Elaine," and it features a beautiful design that I hope to recreate.

Yarn and Needles Used

For this project, I chose to use the Lion Brand Pound of Love yarn in the color "Criminal." This yarn is incredibly plush and soft, making it perfect for a baby blanket. I purchased it at Joann's for a reasonable price. To knit the blanket, I'm using size 10 circular knitting needles.

Initial Concerns and Encouragement

At the beginning of the project, I had some doubts about the pattern's suitability for the recipient. However, after receiving some honest feedback from my mom, I decided to continue working on it. She assured me that the blanket looks beautiful and encouraged me not to give up.

Washing Baby Afghans

Before giving the finished blankets to the receiving parents, I always wash them using a laundry detergent called Aly. This detergent is gentle, free from harmful chemicals, artificial coloring, and scent. It works wonders and is especially suitable for those with delicate skin.

Plans for Completing the Project

While the pattern suggests knitting until the project reaches 47 inches, I've decided to make it shorter, aiming for around 30-32 inches. I want to finish this project as soon as possible, as I have set a personal goal to knit through as much of the book as I can before the year ends.

Challenges for the Year

Completing this knitting project is just one of my goals for the year. I have also challenged myself to learn the guitar, improve my craft, take care of my hair, and prioritize my family. I hope to accomplish these goals by the end of 2014.

Conclusion

I am excited about the progress I've made on my knitting project, and I am determined to finish it soon. I appreciate your support and will continue to provide updates on my knitting, hair care, and more.
