Introduction

Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel. In this video, I'll be showing you how to make a crochet plus size crop top. This is part 2 of the tutorial, so if you haven't watched part 1 yet, make sure to check that out first. I know it's been a while since I posted part 1, but I promise this video will be worth the wait. Let's get started!

Materials Needed

Before we begin, let's gather all the materials we'll need for this project. You'll need a crochet hook, the same size that you used in part 1, some scissors, and a darning needle. That's it! Now we're ready to move on to the next step.

Creating the Bottom of the Top

In part 1, we finished a row of half double crochets. To continue, chain and turn your work, and put one double crochet into each stitch. If you want the bottom of your top to be a little longer, you can add a few more rows of double crochets. Feel free to customize it according to your preference.

Extending the Band

Next, we're going to extend the band that goes under the breast. This step is optional, so if you're happy with how it looked in part 1, you can skip this part and move on to the next section. For those who want to extend the band, chain one, cut your work, and tighten it. Now your band is extended to your desired length.

Making the Straps

Now it's time to create the straps for our top. Start by locating the top middle stitch on the cup that we created in part 1. You can follow the line of the top to find it easily. To connect the straps, you can start with a slip stitch or choose any other method you prefer. Then, chain 60 and meet me back here when you're done.

Creating the Corset Design

Once you've chained 60, cut your yarn and tighten it. Repeat the same process to create the second strap. Now, we're going to move on to a cute little corset design that I love to add to my tops. It's really easy and adds a nice touch to the overall look. Start by creating a chain of 70 stitches. This length is perfect for creating the corset design. Once you're done, go ahead and bind off your work.

Sewing in the Ends

Now that we have our straps and corset design in place, it's time to sew in the ends. Take your darning needle and weave in the loose ends. I'm showing you how I did it, but feel free to use your preferred method. Remember to loop the yarn a few times and tie knots to secure it in place. Once you're done, cut off any excess yarn. Great job on completing this step!

Finishing Touches

You've just created your two straps and added the corset design to your top. Take a moment to admire your progress. The top is looking great, and I'm sure yours looks just as amazing. To finish off, create a long chain and attach it to one side of the top. Then, create another long chain and attach it to the other side. This will serve as the tie to keep the top secure around your back. And there you have it! Your crochet plus size crop top is complete.
