Introduction

Are you a dice goblin who hoards dice like there's no tomorrow? Do your friends give you concerned looks every time they see your ever-growing dice collection? If so, then this article is for you. We understand that your friends may not fully comprehend your dice hoarding habits, but fear not, we have a scientifically proven method to impress them and keep your dice hoard well organized. In this article, we will guide you through the process of making a dice bag that will not only leave your friends impressed but also help you keep your dice collection in check.

The Science Behind Organizing Your Dice Hoard

It's time to dive into the science behind organizing your dice hoard. We have conducted extensive research at Honor Roll Labs to understand the psychology behind dice hoarding and its acceptance among friends. Our studies have shown that by keeping your dice hoard well organized, your friends are more likely to appreciate your hobby and view it in a positive light. So let's get started on creating a dice bag that will not only impress your friends but also keep your dice collection neatly organized.

Gathering Supplies

Before we start creating the dice bag, it's essential to gather all the necessary supplies. You will need a fat quarter fabric for the outer bag, a fat quarter of lining fabric, 48 inches of cord, and thread in the color of your choice. Additionally, you'll need templates for an 8 by 13-inch rectangle and a 4-inch circle. For tools, you'll require scissors or a rotary cutter, sewing pins, sewing needles, and a sewing machine (though hand stitching is also an option). Don't forget to bring along your mental fortitude, or in my case, a grande americano with almond milk.

Cutting out the Fabric

With all the supplies gathered, it's time to cut out the fabric pieces for your dice bag. Using the provided templates, cut out a rectangle and a circle from both the fat quarter outer fabric and the lining fabric. Additionally, you'll need two five-inch by two-inch strips of the outer fabric. These strips will be used to create tubes for the cord to thread through. Ensure that the rectangles and circles are cut accurately to ensure a well-fitted and aesthetically pleasing dice bag.

Preparing the Outer Fabric and Lining

To begin assembling the dice bag, fold the large rectangles of the outer fabric and lining fabric hamburger style, with the right sides together. Pin along the short edge (the eight-inch edge) to secure the folded fabric. Next, take the smaller rectangles and fold the short edges over a quarter to a half an inch, then pin them in place. Confirm that both smaller rectangles are the same length before stitching them down. Sew all the pinned edges, using a quarter-inch seam allowance. There is no need to backstitch at this stage, as we will be sewing over these lines again later on.
