Introduction
Welcome back to my channel! In today's tutorial, we will learn how to crochet a beautiful stitch. This stitch is versatile and can be used for various projects. Are you ready to dive in? Let's get started!
Supplies Needed
Before we begin, make sure you have the following supplies:
- Yarn (I am using Lion Brand "Feels Like Butta")
- Crochet Hook (I recommend a 5mm or H/8 hook)
- Scissors
Now that you have all your supplies ready, let's move on to the next step.
How to Start: Making a Slip Knot
To start crocheting, we need to make a slip knot. Follow these steps:
- Take the end of the yarn and create a loop.
- Insert your crochet hook through the loop.
- Grab the working yarn (the part of the yarn attached to the ball) and pull it through the loop.
- Gently tighten the knot by pulling both ends of the yarn.
Congratulations! You have successfully made a slip knot. Now let's move on to the first row.
Row Number 1: Single Crochet into the First Chain
In this row, we will be working with single crochets. Here's how to do it:
- Insert your crochet hook into the first chain from the hook.
- Yarn over (wrap the yarn around the hook) and pull through the chain, creating two loops on the hook.
- Yarn over again and pull through both loops on the hook. This completes one single crochet.
Repeat this process in the next three chains. By the end of this row, you should have four single crochets.
Row Number 2: Double Crochets and Single Crochets
In row number 2, we will introduce double crochets along with single crochets. Here's how to do it:
- Chain three (this counts as a double crochet).
- Single crochet into the first chain space or work it into the second chain itself (choose whichever method you prefer).
- Chain three and work three double crochets into the next chain space.
- Repeat the pattern of chaining three and working three double crochets into each chain space until the end of the row.
- To finish the row, chain three, and single crochet into the last chain space.
You have completed row number 2! Now let's move on to row number 3.
Row Number 3: Half Double Crochet and Single Crochets
Row number 3 consists of half double crochets and single crochets. Here's how to do it:
- Chain three. This chain three will count as a half double crochet and a chain one.
- Single crochet into the next chain space.
- Chain three and single crochet into the next chain space.
- Repeat the pattern of chaining three and single crocheting into each chain space until the end of the row.
- Chain one and finish the row by working a half double crochet into the third chain from the beginning of the previous row.
Congratulations! You have completed row number 3. From here on, we will repeat rows 2 and 3 for the entire project.
Repeating Rows 2 and 3
To continue the pattern, repeat rows 2 and 3 alternately.
