Making a Strawberry Bucket Hat Tutorial

Today, I want to share with you a tutorial on how to make a strawberry bucket hat. If you've been following my channel, you may have seen my YouTube shorts where I made a red bucket hat. Well, due to popular demand, I decided to add a little green leaf to make it look like an official strawberry bucket hat. So, in this long-form video, I will be showing you how to create the leaf and attach it to the hat.

But first, let me thank you all for supporting my channel and helping it reach 4,500 subscribers. Your continued support motivates me to keep posting not only crochet videos but also lifestyle content that some of you enjoy. Now, let's get started with the tutorial.

To make the leaf, you will need acrylic yarn, preferably in a lighter shade of green to complement the vibrant red of the bucket hat. I purchased mine from Daiso, and each skein only costs about 100 or 200 yen. You will also need a 5mm crochet hook to work with the worsted weight yarn.

Once you have the materials ready, create a slip knot and start by making a chain of 11 stitches. This will serve as the base for your leaf. From there, we will work various crochet stitches to shape the leaf.

To begin, make a single crochet in the third chain from the hook. Then, make a half double crochet in the next stitch. Followed by two double crochets in the next stitch. Continue with two treble crochets in the following stitch and one treble crochet in the next stitch.

Next, make two double crochets in the next stitch, followed by a half double crochet. Finish the first side of the leaf with a single crochet. Now, to start the second side of the leaf, make a half double crochet in the next stitch, two double crochets in the following stitch, and two treble crochets in the next stitch. Then, make a single treble crochet and two double crochets.

Finally, make a half double crochet and a single crochet to complete the second side of the leaf. To finish off, make a slip stitch in the final chain at the top and cut the yarn, leaving a tail to weave in later.

Once you have completed one leaf, you can make a second one using the same steps. Now, it's time to attach the leaves to the bucket hat. I recommend placing the symmetrical leaf on one side and the non-symmetrical leaf on top of it to create a cute layered effect.
