Introduction

Hey there, friends! How is everyone doing today? I hope you're all doing well. Welcome, I'm glad you stopped by to hang out with me. My name is Marsha, and I'm the founder of Mei Makes Keepsakes. Thank you to all of my subscribers, both old and new, for your continued support. I appreciate all the sweet comments and messages. Today, being Friday, I have the day off and wanted to hop on here and address some of the questions I've been asked. I also wanted to share some exciting news about a book that I can't wait for.

Marsha's Tattoo Stories

One of the most common questions I receive is about my tattoos. I have a palm tree tattoo and another one with three little birds on a branch. Contrary to what many people may assume, I am not from South Carolina. I am actually from the Mississippi Gulf Coast area, and I absolutely love it here. It's so beautiful, quaint, and peaceful. The palm tree tattoo was a birthday gift to myself on my 53rd birthday. My husband and I planned a trip to Key West, and I knew I wanted a palm tree tattoo to commemorate the occasion. About a month later, on our 10-year anniversary, my husband got a matching palm tree tattoo as well. As for the three little birds tattoo, that was done a few years ago with my youngest daughter. She wanted to get her first tattoo, and I joined her for support. I love birds, and the tattoo serves as a reminder that just like God takes care of the birds, He will also take care of me. The Bob Marley song "Three Little Birds" also played a role in inspiring this tattoo.

Modification of Mouse Lovey Pattern

Another question I often receive is about the modification I made to the mouse lovey pattern. The pattern itself is available on Mama Makes Minis on Etsy. However, the pattern doesn't come with clothes. Since I wanted to pair the lovey with books, I made some adjustments to give them clothes. To achieve this, I incorporated color changes in the body. I used the pink color for the second row and continued it all the way down, creating a ruffle effect. By crocheting in the front loop, I was able to attach a ruffle. I also added a chain stitch headband. Please note that this modification is not included in the original pattern and requires some crochet skills.

Amy Gromy's Book Announcement

Now, let's talk about the exciting news I mentioned earlier. Amy Gromy, also known as Arena Lee, is releasing a new book called "Enchanted Woodland Amy Gomi." I am beyond thrilled! The book is already available for pre-order, and it's something you don't want to miss. Just take a look at the adorable characters in the book. The colors and designs are absolutely stunning. The book was announced on Arena Lee's Instagram, and personally, I can't wait to get my hands on it. Arena Lee is known for her creative patterns, and her previous books have been a huge hit.

Amy Gromy's Previous Books

Before we dive further into the new book, let me tell you about Amy Gromy's previous releases. I already own two of her books: "Amy Gromy Treasures" and "Amy Gromy Treasures 2." These books were part of my Christmas wish list, and I was lucky enough to receive them as gifts. My goal is to make at least one project from each book before adding more to my collection. However, I must admit that it's becoming increasingly difficult to resist the temptation of other patterns showcased by fellow crafters. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed working through the projects in these books and look forward to continuing my journey with Amy Gromy's creations.

Making Projects from Amy Gromy's Books

Now, let's talk about the fun part - making projects from Amy Gromy's books! The patterns in these books are not only adorable but also relatively easy to follow. One of my favorite makes is the cute little cat that I crocheted from Amy Gromy Treasures. The pattern provides clear instructions, and I particularly loved making the little headband for the cat. The end result was absolutely adorable. I used Premier worsted weight yarn from Dollar Tree and a 3.5 mm crochet hook for this project. The kitten turned out so cute, and it was a joy to work on.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my recent experiences and updates in the world of crochet. It's always a pleasure to share my journey with you all. If you have any questions or would like to share your own creations, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for joining me today, and I wish you all a fantastic weekend!
