Introduction
Welcome to part 3 of the tutorial of Uta amigurumi from the One Piece series. In this tutorial, we will be making the wings of this type of earphone and assembling the final piece.
Materials Needed
Before we begin, let's gather the materials we'll need for this project:
- Yellow yarn
- Light blue yarn
- White yarn
- Pink yarn
- Crochet hooks
- Stuffing
- Scissors
- Pins
- Black thread
- Buttons
- Fabric marker or indelible fibron
- Glue
- Fabric hardener
Now that we have all our materials ready, let's get started!
Making the Headband
To start, we will make the headband. Use the yellow yarn and create a chain of 26 stitches. From the second chain from the needle, make 23 half double crochets. In the last chain, make 5 half double crochets. Continue making 22 half double crochets on the other side of the chain, and in the last chain on this side, make 4 half double crochets. Close and leave a thread to sew to the head.
Creating the Headphones
Next, we will make the headphones. Start by making a magic ring and make 6 single crochets in it. Close the ring and the round. Cut off the excess thread from the magic ring. In the second round, make 5 single crochets through the back loop and an increase. In round number 3, join with a slip stitch in light blue color, without cutting the yellow yarn, and make 6 single points and an increase. Finish round number 3 and close the light blue color. Start round number 4 with a slip stitch using the yellow thread and make 7 single crochets and an increase. In round number 5, make 8 single crochets and an increase, leaving us with a total of 10 stitches. Finish the round and close it, leaving a thread to sew to the head.
Making the Wings
Moving on to the wings, we will need to make one in white and the other in pink. Let's start with the pink wing. We will work on one part in turns and another part in rows. First, make a magic ring and make 6 single crochets in it. Close the ring. From now on, we will work in rows. Start with the first row by making two single crochets, an increase, a single crochet, and three chains. It is recommended to hide the thread from the magic ring as we knit along. Turn the fabric and start the second row by making 4 single crochet, one increase, one single crochet, and a slip stitch. Repeat the pattern for the third row, making two single crochets, an increase, five single crochets, and three chains. Continue with the fourth row by making 6 single crochets, one increase, three single crochets, and one slip stitch. In the fifth round, make a single crochet, an increase, nine single crochets, and three chains. Finally, in the sixth row, make 8 single crochet, one increase, five single crochet, and finish with a slip stitch. Close and leave a thread to sew the body. Repeat the same process for the white wing.
Assembling the Body and Head
Once all the pieces are ready, it's time to assemble the body and head. Pass the thread that we left from the neck through the center and place the head. Sew the body with the head through the row that we have left. This thread serves as a guide and makes sewing much more practical. After sewing the body, sew the head using the same technique. You can choose to sew just one eye or both, depending on your preference.
Sewing the Hair
Now, let's move on to sewing the hair. First, decide where you want to place the hair and fasten it with pins. Sew the red part and fasten the center and crown first before sewing the tufts. Sew the underside and fasten in the middle as well. Use the thread left from the union to sew the head and guide the sewing process. After fastening the fringe, sew all the way to the middle of the white part of the hair. Make a knot and cut the thread.
Adding the Headband and Hair Accessories
Measure where you want to place the headband and see where to position the hair at the back. Join both ends of the headband and sew it where the locks begin after round number 7. Place the red part of the hair and sew it in place. Add the little hair on the sides at the level of the eyes. Before placing the headband, pass a light blue strip through the middle and let it dry if you have used glue. Once dry, attach the headband.
Attaching the Headphones
Sew the headphones in place by pressing them against the headband. Sew them securely to ensure they stay in place.
Sewing the Wings
Take the thread from the center, make a knot, and sew the wings in the upper part of the back. Use the white thread for one wing and the pink thread for the other. Sew them securely to the fabric.
Embroidering Details
Now it's time to add some details to the amigurumi. Use semi-thick black threads to embroider the two light blue lines on the right arm. To make the bow, tie a bow with semi-thick threads and secure it with a drop of glue if necessary. Use buttons for eyes and cut small details for the shoes. You can also use fabric markers or indelible fibron to add more details to your amigurumi.
Adding Buttons and Shoe Details
For the buttons, use a handkerchief and black thread to create them. Cut out small details for the shoes, such as laces or patterns. Use yellow fabric hardener on the back of the hair if you want to make it firmer.
Finishing Touches
Finally, add the slippers and other finishing touches to your amigurumi. Glue the details and let them dry before handling the amigurumi.
