Crochet With Me: Making a Patchwork Sweater

Introduction: Welcome to My Channel: Hey guys, welcome back to my channel! In today's video, I am going to try something new. I will be doing a crochet-with-me moment where I will be making a beautiful patchwork sweater. But before we begin, make sure to hit that subscribe button and give this video a thumbs up if you enjoy it. Let's get started!

Supplies and Pattern: Little Weasel Yarn Store: I recently visited my favorite yarn store, Little Weasel, in Paris, and I have got my hands on some amazing supplies for this project. I'll show you my little haul in a second, but first, let me tell you about the pattern I will be using.

Choosing the Colors: For this patchwork sweater, I decided to go with a blue-green vibe. I bought the pattern from Alaska Crochet, an amazing designer on Instagram and Etsy. I wanted to support her, so I got her pattern to guide me in creating this sweater. The yarn I chose is a mix of cotton and acrylic, making it soft and cozy for the upcoming winter season.

Getting Started: Learning Double Crochet: To begin with, the pattern requires the use of double crochet, a stitch that I wasn't familiar with until a few minutes ago. Thanks to YouTube, I quickly learned how to double crochet, and now I am ready to dive into making the first patch.

Making the Patches: Instead of making the sweater in one piece, I decided to make each patch separately and then join them together later. This approach allows for flexibility and experimentation. As I continue working on the patches, I am loving the combination of colors I chose. It's starting to look really good!

Progress Updates: Front Half of the Sweater: After spending a considerable amount of time on the patches, I am happy to announce that we are officially done with the patches for the front half of the sweater. It's exciting to see them all laid out and ready to be stitched together. But first, I need to get some more yarn from Little Weasel for the back half.

Adding Ribbing: Choosing the Ribbing Stitch: Now that the patches are completed and attached, it's time to add some ribbing to the sweater. I am deciding between a few stitches and have finally settled on one that I believe will give the sweater the perfect finishing touch. It also has a bit of stretch, which is always a plus.

Working on the Cuffs: Currently, I am working on the cuffs for the sweater. I have finished one and I am onto the second one. If all goes well, I should be able to finish them today. I'm super excited about this milestone in the project.

Attaching the Sleeves: One of the challenges I am facing now is attaching the sleeve to the cuff. The fabric needs to be adjusted to fit properly, and it's proving to be a bit tricky. I am using bobby pins to clip everything in place for a neater finish. It's definitely a process, but I'm confident I can overcome this challenge.

Finishing Touches: Adding the Collar: With the cuffs successfully attached, all that's left to do is add the ribbing collar. This will bring the entire sweater together and give it a polished look. I'm thrilled with how it's turning out.

Final Thoughts: Completed Sweater: After weeks of dedicated work, I am proud to say that the sweater is finished! It has turned out exactly how I envisioned it, and I couldn't be happier with the result. The contrasting colors, the balloon sleeves, and the overall warmth of the sweater make it a valuable addition to my wardrobe.

Proud Accomplishment: This project has been the most ambitious crochet project I have undertaken so far, and I am incredibly proud of myself. It took about three to four weeks to complete, but it was worth every moment. The stitching and quality turned out better than expected, and I'm looking forward to wearing it with pride.
