Introduction
Hey everyone, it's Katie! Welcome back to another video. Today, I have a fun challenge for you. We're going to explore how much I can crochet with just one skein of yarn. In this video, I'll be using the Premier Just Chenille yarn to test its limits. If you enjoy this experiment, be sure to let me know in the comments below. I'm open to turning this into a series and trying different types of yarn in the future.
The Just Chenille Yarn
Let's start by taking a closer look at the Premier Just Chenille yarn. This particular version is only available at Dollar Tree, and each skein contains 65 yards or 60 meters of yarn. It weighs 1.7 ounces or 50 grams and is labeled as super bulky, number six. The suggested hook size is 8 millimeters, making it perfect for larger projects. The color I'll be using is called "lime."
Crocheting Leggy Frogs
For this experiment, I've chosen to make leggy frogs using a five-millimeter hook. Leggy frogs are one of my go-to projects for the color green. The leggy frog pattern I'm using was purchased from Etsy, and I'll include a link to it below.
Making the Leggy Frog Bodies
Now that we have everything prepared, it's time to start crocheting. With my five-millimeter hook, I'll begin by making the leggy frog bodies. I plan on making as many leggy frogs as possible until I run out of yarn.
Adding Eyes and Mouth
Once I've completed all the leggy frog bodies, it's time to add the eyes and mouth. I'll be stopping at this stage for all the frogs to ensure consistency in the experiment. Each leggy frog will be finished with attention to detail.
Results and Conclusion
Now that all the leggy frogs are complete let's see how many we were able to make with just one skein of the Premier Just Chenille yarn.
How Many Leggy Frogs Can You Make?
In this experiment, I managed to crochet almost four leggy frogs with one skein of the Just Chenille yarn. I had only a small amount of yarn left, and with a slightly tighter tension, I could have finished a total of four frogs. If you enjoyed this video and found it helpful, give it a thumbs up and let me know in the comments if you'd like to see more of these experiments with different yarns.
Other Yarn Options for Similar Projects
If you're interested in trying similar projects with different types of yarn, here are some options to consider. While I won't be using the Premier Just Chenille cone since it contains over a thousand yards of yarn, I'm open to exploring other yarns such as Parfait Chunky or Red Heart Super Saver. Leave your suggestions in the comments and let's continue this series with various yarns.
Conclusion
Thank you so much for tuning in to today's video. I hope you enjoyed seeing how many leggy frogs I was able to crochet with just one skein of the Premier Just Chenille yarn.
