Introduction
Welcome back to the studio for part three of our Summer Blossom Mandala Crochet Along. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am! Before we dive into this week's rounds, I want to remind you that all the supplies you need, including the pattern, kits, and links to my social media and website, are available in the description below. Don't forget to sign up for my newsletter to receive weekly updates and a free pattern. So let's get stitching!
Supplies Needed
Before we start crocheting, let's make sure we have all the supplies we need for this project. Here's a list of what you'll need:
- Yarn in various colors (D, C, A, E)
- Crochet hook
- Scissors
- Stitch markers (optional)
- Yarn needle
Now that we have everything ready, let's move on to the rounds.
Round 15: Working with Color D
Joining Color D
To begin Round 15, grab Color D and place it on your hook. Join Color D with a slip stitch in any of the chain three spaces around. Then, chain three.
Working Double Crochets
In the same chain three space, work two double crochets.
Skipping Front Post Double Crochets
Next, double crochet into the next five half double crochets, making sure to only work into the third loop. Skip the front post double crochets from the previous round.
Working Into Chain Three Spaces
When you reach the chain three spaces, work three double crochets into each of them. This entire round consists of double crochets.
Working Double Crochets Into Half Double Crochets
Continue working double crochets into the third loop of each half double crochet around. Once you reach the end, you're all set up and ready to work Round 16.
Round 16: Working with Color C
Joining Color C
In Round 16, we'll be working with Color C. To join Color C, insert your hook into the center double crochet of any of the three double crochet groups within the chain three space. Then, chain one and work three single crochets into the same stitch.
Working Single Crochets
After the three single crochets, single crochet into each of the next three double crochets.
Working Front Post Triple Crochets
Now, we'll work a front post triple crochet around the post of the front post double crochet from two rows before. Start by working a front post triple to the right, then work another front post triple to the left.
Skipping Center Double Crochet
Skip one stitch, which will be the center double crochet of the five double crochet group between the two three double crochet groups. Then, single crochet into each of the next three double crochets.
Working Front Post Stitches Again
To complete the round, work the two front post triple stitches again. Start by working a front post triple around the front post double crochet to the right, then work another front post triple around the front post double crochet to the left. Skip the center double crochet in the back and single crochet into each of the next three double crochets. Repeat this pattern all the way around.
Round 17: Working with Color A
Joining Color A
For Round 17, join Color A in the first single crochet of any of the three single crochet groups that are on top of the three double crochet groups. Then, chain one.
Working Single Crochets
Single crochet in each of the next three singles.
Working Front Post Double Crochets
Work a front post double crochet around the post of the next three double crochets from three rows before.
Hiding Previous Round
To hide the previous round, drop down behind the left post of the three double crochet group and work a front post double crochet. Then, work a front post double crochet into each of the next two double crochets. Work a front post double crochet around both posts of the front post triple from the previous round. Continue working front post double crochets around the next three doubles from two rows before the previous round.
Working Front Post Stitches in Each Petal
Single crochet into each of the singles at the top. Repeat this pattern all the way around, and join to the first single crochet with a slip stitch. This completes Round 17.
Round 18: Working with Color E
Joining Color E
For Round 18, join Color E in the top of any of the front post triples around. Then, chain four, which counts as your first triple crochet.
Working Triple Crochets
Work triple crochets in every stitch around. This is all you need to do for Round 18.
