Introduction

Hey, guys! It's Beverly, and I wanted to hop on here to share some exciting updates with you all. I have a lot going on in terms of crochet projects, contests, and upcoming craft shows. So, let's dive right in and get started, shall we?

Participating in the Contest

So, I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be joining Christy on her live show to do a giveaway contest. The contest is in collaboration with Christy's crochet channel, and I'm super excited about it. As of now, there are only five people who have entered, and I hope that you all join in too. Make sure to subscribe to Christy's channel and enter the contest – the link is provided below in the description. You can also join us on the live show, which will be so much fun!

The Hanging Towel Project

Okay, now let's talk about the crochet project I've been working on recently – the hanging towel. Ravini inspired me with her amazing work, but when I looked at the pattern, I had no idea what I was getting into. This pattern is like a graph gan, and I had to print out the chart to follow along. It's been quite a journey, but I'm making progress. The hanging towel starts with a tree at the top, and I'm working my way down. It's a lot of work, but I'm determined to finish it.

The Challenging Pattern

Let me tell you, this pattern is no joke. If you're skilled at reading charts, you'll have a great time with it. But for someone like me who's still learning, it's been quite the challenge. I've had to cross off mistakes and redo sections multiple times. But hey, that's part of the learning process, right?

Progress and Challenges

So far, I've completed the tree part of the hanging towel. I've kept all the loose ends on one side and made sure the other side is clean. Visually, it's starting to come together, and I'm excited about the final result. But boy, have I struggled with this pattern. It's definitely a step up from what I'm used to, and I'm proud of myself for pushing through it.

The Snow Globe Topper

Another exciting project I have in the works is a snow globe topper. I ordered some green yarn for the base, but the color turned out to be more like aqua. I'll have to pick the right shade in person. Additionally, I ordered adorable snowman and snowflake buttons to add some charm to the topper. I can't wait to bring this project to life!

Ordering the Buttons

Let me show you the buttons I ordered. There are four snowman buttons with hats and four without hats. I also got some snowflake buttons in three different sizes. The buttons are sew-on, so I'll be threading them through the holes. Aren't they cute? I'm excited to see how they look on the finished project.

Making the Topper

As I mentioned earlier, I'll be making the snow globe topper for a towel. I think it will add a lovely touch, especially with the cute buttons. I haven't opened the kit yet, but it includes everything I need. Making this topper will be so much fun, and I can't wait to share the final result with you all.

Frankenstein Project

Now, let's talk about Frankenstein – one of my favorite crochet projects. I absolutely adore how he turned out. I did modify the pattern slightly as I had extra green yarn, and I wanted to experiment with it. However, there is a small flaring issue that I need to fix. Overall, I'm really pleased with the outcome, and I think he's super cute.

Selling at Craft Shows

Last year, I made some turkey pot holders using a Bag O' Day pattern, and they were a hit. So, I plan on making more of them this year. In fact, I'll be attending a craft show on September 24th, and my goal is to sell Frankenstein and other Halloween-themed crochet items. I've also made mason jars that look like pumpkins and skeletons, as well as a pirate-themed item. And of course, I'll be showcasing the Christmas towel project too. Additionally, our community craft show has been moved to December 3rd this year due to scheduling issues. It's going to be a busy and exciting time!

Turkey Pot Holders

Speaking of turkey pot holders, let me tell you about them. They are made using a Bag O' Day pattern that you can look up. Last year, I sold quite a few of these pot holders, and they were a hit. I'll definitely be making more of them for the upcoming craft shows, so if you're interested, make sure to check them out.

Selling at Craft Shows

As I mentioned earlier, I'll be attending a craft show on September 24th, where I'll be selling various crochet items. The turkey pot holders will be on display along with other items like the mason jars, a pirate-themed item, and of course, the Christmas towel project. Additionally, our community craft show, which is usually held in the middle of November, has been moved to December 3rd this year due to scheduling conflicts. So mark your calendars for these exciting events!

Changes to the Craft Show Date

Due to the scheduling conflict with the craft show, which is usually held before Thanksgiving, it has been moved to December 3rd. We wanted to ensure that the clubhouse is fully ready and prepared for the show. Unfortunately, next year's craft show date will also be affected by Veterans Day falling on a Saturday, so we'll have to plan accordingly.

Giveaway Details

Lastly, let's discuss the exciting giveaway happening on Christy's channel. Make sure to check out her video (link below) where she describes the yarn and shows you all the details. The yarn for the giveaway is a green sparkle yarn by Ice brand. It's a thin number four, chain spun yarn with a beautiful green silver color. It's made of 50% wool, 38% acrylic, and 12% metallic. Christy has also included a Christmas tree stitch marker as a bonus. Don't miss out on the chance to win this amazing prize!

Conclusion

That's all for today, folks! I hope you enjoyed hearing about my ongoing crochet projects, the contest with Christy, and the upcoming craft shows. It's an exciting time for me, and I can't wait to share more updates with you all. As always, thank you for watching and supporting my channel. Love you all! Bye for now!
