Gingerbread Men Project
One of the projects I have been working on is making gingerbread men. I recently completed a zoom meeting and managed to get quite a lot of the gingerbread men done. Instead of using french knots for the buttons, I decided to crochet six into a magic ring and seam it up. I changed the buttons on some of the gingerbread men, using different colors to make them look even cuter. There is one loose one left to do, and then I will be changing the buttons on the remaining ones.
Knitting Projects
Aside from the gingerbread men, I have downloaded two knitting patterns. The first pattern is called "Bloom and Grow Socks" by Becky Norman. It caught my eye because it looked easier compared to other patterns I have tried before. The second pattern is called "Vincasse" by Morocco Yarn for All Makers, and it is a free pattern on Ravelry. What I love about this pattern is that it offers different stitch patterns, making it more interesting to work on. These knitting projects will provide me with new challenges and allow me to expand my skills.
Organizing Knitting Patterns
I often find myself getting distracted by new projects and forgetting about the patterns I initially wanted to work on. To keep myself more organized, I have decided to create a list of patterns that I want to knit. This will help me stay focused and ensure that I don't miss out on projects I initially found interesting. I prefer using printed patterns because I can easily write my notes on them. Even though it might seem like a waste of paper, having a physical pattern allows me to make annotations and keep track of my progress.
Finishing the Gingerbread Men
After working on the gingerbread men, I needed to complete some final touches. This involved weaving in the ends to give them a neater appearance. I also joined the necks of the gingerbread men as they were initially separate. To add a personal touch, I chose different colors for the buttons. For example, I used pink buttons on the blue gingerbread man and vice versa. Additionally, I crocheted a chain that can be used for hanging the gingerbread men. I will soon figure out the best way to attach the chain or a safety pin to hang them up.
Personal Update
Aside from my knitting projects, I have been spending time with my family. It's Friday evening, and my husband, Ian, will be home shortly. We plan to have kebabs for dinner and enjoy a relaxing evening together. I am also feeling quite cold, even though there are no open windows. Despite the cold, I am motivated to continue working on Casey's jumper, which I began working on last night.
Wrapping Up the Week
As the week comes to an end, I take a moment to reflect on the projects I have worked on. Although it has been a quiet week indoors, I have made progress on my knitting projects and shared updates with viewers. I express my gratitude to Nancy for sending me additional prizes for the giveaway, and I invite others to contribute to the giveaway prizes. As the day winds down, Ian and I plan to relax and enjoy the premiere of "Fast and Furious Nine," one of his favorite franchises.
