Introduction
Hello everyone! It's Megan Rose from the Philippines, and welcome to the 357th episode of "Gun Childera." In this show-and-tell of crochet and craft-related items, I'm excited to share with you what I've been up to this past week. Thank you for staying with me on this journey, whether you are an old or new subscriber. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to join me.
Stocking Toys
The first project I want to share with you is the stocking toys. This has been sitting in my drawer for some time now, but I finally had the chance to work on it. These stocking toys are donut-like stacking toys that can hold about five donuts. I inserted popsicle sticks inside to keep them stable and secure. At the bottom, I added a wire to make them stand upright. I still have four more donuts to complete, so I'm considering making another set or leaving it as is. I'm happy with the progress I made on this project.
Snowman Amigurumi
Next up is a project that was originally supposed to be a snowman amigurumi. However, I decided to turn it into a white cat with just a tail running along the side. I had some safety eyes that I added to give it a more realistic touch. I crocheted the ears directly onto the headpiece, and although it deviated from the initial plan, I'm still pleased with how it turned out.
Big Pouch with Embossed Leaves and Flowers
I recently started live streaming on Kumu and came up with a big pouch that features embossed leaves and flowers. I demonstrated the process of connecting the panels and adding the embossed design during my live streams. Now, all that's left is to add lining and zippers so that I can list this item on my shop. I'm excited to fulfill a customer's request for this pouch.
Raymond Amigurumi
Last Tuesday, I went to Tabora and purchased some materials to continue working on Raymond, an amigurumi project. Raymond's body has a bell in the middle, but instead of using an expensive bell, I improvised with a golden bead. I also made the body a little bit bigger, considering Raymond's character design. This is one of the ongoing projects that I'm currently working on.
Embroidery Hoop Experiment
I recently bought a medium-sized embroidery hoop from Tabora and covered it with satin fabric to experiment with some embroidery techniques. I also bought a smaller-sized embroidery hoop for more portable embroidery projects. I'm excited to explore this craft and see where it takes me.
Character Beanies
I've been working on some character beanies and have recently completed a raccoon hat. These beanies have different variations, with each one having its unique features. After finishing a beanie, I plan to list it on my shop. It's a fun project that allows me to showcase my creativity.
Lanyards for Face Masks
To address the issue of frequently forgetting my face mask, I decided to make lanyards. These lanyards have lobster locks on both ends, allowing the face mask strap to be attached for easy access. I've already made a few of these lanyards for myself and gifted some to my cousin. I'm considering buying bigger lobster locks for her, as they are only available in certain stores.
Goku Plushie
I've been working on a Goku plushie, and one of the challenges I'm facing is creating a pocket to insert a voice box. I've been experimenting with different techniques to ensure that the voice box fits properly. It's a work in progress, but I'm excited to see the final result.
Kaleidoscope Tumbler Holder
One of my ongoing projects is a kaleidoscope tumbler holder with a backlog-only design. I've completed one and plan to list it on my shop. The design allows for customization, and I'm currently working on another one using Christmas colors. It's a mindless project that I can work on during my live streams.
Eight-Point Star Doily or Runner
I came across a beautiful eight-point star doily or runner project from my fellow Kumu friends, so I decided to give it a try. It requires some counting to ensure precise points, so I've placed a safety pin on the tenth row to help me keep track. I'm excited to continue working on this project and share the final result.
Conclusion
That's all for now! I hope you enjoyed hearing about the various projects I've been working on. It's been a craft-filled week, and I'm grateful for the opportunities to explore different techniques and showcase my creativity. Thank you for joining me on this creative journey, and I wish you all a crafty and joy-filled time. Bye for now!
